The Samoa International Game Fishing Association (SIGFA) has officially launched the 2023 SIGFA International Fishing Tournament, one of the largest and most prestigious fishing tournaments in the South Pacific.
The tournament kicked off with the firing of a flare by the Honourable Prime Minister of Samoa, Fiame Naomi Mataafa, marking the beginning of the event. Competitors from all over the world have gathered in Samoa to showcase their skills and passion for boating in the beautiful waters surrounding the island.
Despite challenging weather conditions on the first day of the tournament, dedicated anglers braved the choppy seas and gusty winds to bring in some impressive catches. The weigh-in deadline of 5 pm was met by all competitors, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the tournament.
The SIGFA International Fishing Tournament is a non-profit event organized by the Samoa International Game Fishing Association to promote game fishing in Samoa and the South Pacific region.
