Minister Faualo Harry J Schuster delivered the keynote speech to celebrate the graduation of new police recruits yesterday. The event, held to mark the completion of an intense and demanding 17-week training program, highlighted the commitment and sacrifices made by these individuals who have answered the call to uphold the law and serve their nation.
Schuster acknowledged the prayer offered by Reverend Motu’s, which sought the Lord’s blessings and protection, to remind the graduates of the significance of this milestone and the responsibilities that lie ahead. The training they have received has prepared them to face the challenges and realities of their chosen path, equipping them to be the best in their field and serve the people of Samoa diligently.
With the theme “Make a change for a Peaceful Nation,” the graduates showcased their dedication and passion to bring about positive transformations within their ranks and serve their country with unwavering commitment. This resonated deeply with the vision of the Ministry – “Working together for a safe and secure Samoa” – emphasizing the collaborative efforts required to maintain peace and security.
The ceremony was a time of celebration, with parents, families, friends, and entire communities beaming with pride at the achievements of these graduates. Their journey to this point has been one of sacrifice and hard work, and they have emerged as shining examples of dedication and determination.
As they step into their roles as police officers, the graduates were reminded of the core values that will guide their actions and decisions. The acronym I-C-A-R-E serves as a compass, reminding them of the fundamental principles that underpin the work of the Samoa Police:-
- Integrity: Upholding the highest ethical standards and conducting themselves with honesty and transparency.
