New Zealand will have two Deputy Prime Minister, Winston Peters of New Zealand First, and David Seymour of ACT will take over the role for the second half of the three-year term. Peters has led New Zealand First since 1993 and previously served as deputy prime minister. Seymour, ACT’s leader since 2014, opposes Māori co-governance and vows to repeal the Zero Carbon Act. Peters pledges to end race-based policies and take a tough stance on crime. After six weeks of post-election negotiations, National, ACT, and New Zealand First will form a coalition government. The swearing-in is expected on Monday, with Parliament resuming on December 5th.
