The Samoa Police – Vaeluaga o Matagi today bolstered its maritime capabilities with the official acquisition of a new vessel, gifted by the Australian Defence Force. This strategic enhancement is set to empower the Savai’i Outposts, significantly impacting their operational readiness and efficiency.
During a formal ceremony, Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo presented the vessel to the Savai’i Outposts. This addition is slated to extend the Police’s reach and efficacy in conducting rescue operations and maritime patrols, ensuring greater security across the region.
Assistant Commissioner Galumalemana Eneliko Ta’eu expressed sincere thanks for the new asset, acknowledging the Commissioner’s role in securing this enhancement and the Australian Defence Force’s crucial support in actualising the initiative.
The vessel’s arrival is well-timed, coinciding with the Samoa Police – Vaeluaga o Matagi’s preparations for the festive season, when maritime surveillance and quick response capacities are most in demand. Its state-of-the-art features are anticipated to significantly boost the outpost’s ability to maintain safety and security around Savai’i.
