Dame Jacinda Ardern, the former prime minister of NZ, is reportedly set to marry her longtime partner Clarke Gayford in a wedding ceremony scheduled for this month. Although both Ardern, 43, and Gayford, 47, have not officially confirmed the news, Gayford responded to a reporter’s inquiry by expressing disbelief and stating he had nothing more to add. The wedding is slated for January 13 at an exclusive venue in Hawke’s Bay, with a limited guest list comprising primarily family, close friends, and some former and current Labour politicians.

The couple initially got engaged during the Easter break in 2019, and their first planned wedding in 2022 was canceled due to the Omicron variant, leading to gathering restrictions. Despite the setback, Ardern remained resilient, acknowledging the challenges posed by the pandemic and expressing solidarity with others facing similar situations. Following her resignation 11 months later, she emphasised her anticipation of spending more time with her family and humorously urged Gayford to finally proceed with their marriage.
