Big news for Samoa! The government department that looks after women, community, and social stuff (called the Ministry of Women Community and Social Development, or MWCSD for short) has made a deal with a group called Samoa Umbrella for Non-Government Organisations (SUNGO). They signed a special agreement on January 11, 2024.
What’s this all about? Well, the government and SUNGO are going to work together to help local councils in Samoa get better at what they do. They’ve set aside SAT200,180 for this project, and it’s going to last for a year.

This is all part of a big plan to make life in Samoa better, both in how people live and how the economy works.
By doing this, the government and SUNGO want to make sure that everyone is doing things right and fair. They want to pay attention to important stuff like treating men and women equally and taking care of the environment.
SUNGO is a big group that helps smaller community groups in Samoa. They give training, share information, and speak up about important issues.
