King Charles and Queen Camilla are anticipated to embark on official visits to Australia and Samoa, as mentioned by Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. Despite the Queen’s reservations about long-distance travel, it is part of their agenda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to be held in Samoa this year.

The last time a member of the royal family visited Samoa was when Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip undertook a tour of Commonwealth countries in 1977. Their visit included a 1 day stop in Samoa, and they arrived on the royal yacht HMS Britannia.

After the passing of the Queen, King Charles initially prioritised strengthening relationships within the United Kingdom, resulting in fewer overseas visits even after his coronation. Despite recent health concerns, King Charles remains deliberate about international travel, and Queen Camilla, though not enthusiastic about long distances, is set to accompany him on the planned visits to Samoa and Australia.vi

Now that the King and Queen have settled into their roles, it is expected that additional visits will be announced throughout the year as they continue to fulfill their official duties.
