Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa and her Cabinet expressed their sincere appreciation to Miss Samoa Moemoana Safa’ato’a Schwenke for her outstanding achievement in securing the Miss Pacific Islands title.

In a meeting held at the Cabinet Chambers on Wednesday afternoon, the Prime Minister, along with her Cabinet, joined forces with Miss Schwenke, the Samoa Tourism Authority (S.T.A.) management, and Onomea Productions to celebrate the triumph.

Representing the Government of Samoa, Prime Minister Fiame conveyed gratitude to Miss Pacific Islands for effectively representing the nation. She expressed delight in learning about the extensive support behind Miss Schwenke, not only from the S.T.A. and Onomea Productions but also from her parents and family.

Commending Miss Schwenke for her bravery, Prime Minister Fiame acknowledged the challenges of participating in pageants. She also took a moment to recognise Miss Schwenke’s mother, the former Miss Samoa and Miss South Pacific Maryjane McKibbin, who held the same prestigious title, carrying the honor of a tamaitai Samoa.

In addition, the Prime Minister Fiame commended Miss Schwenke for carrying the title with dignity, expressing a gracious “malo faafetai.” Notably, Miss Schwenke made history last week in Nauru by becoming the first-ever mother-daughter duo to be crowned Miss Pacific Islands since the inception of the pageant.
