Praying for success in a task is far more important than the task itself. This is the cornerstone of a Samoan woman’s role, to support and advise in the leadership of the head of the family.
However, that role does not entirely define a mother’s responsibilities.
Approximately 500 minister’s wives from various congregations of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa, both locally and from overseas, gathered at the Maota o Tupulaga in Sogi.
The true nature of this gathering is to celebrate the service provided by ministers’ wives, as well as the wives of retired ministers on pension and those honourably retired.
They are the ones who stand behind the ministers, providing support and advice while the Reverends attend to their duties.
This gathering is called the Renewed Fellowship.
The chairperson of EFKS Women’s Renewed Fellowship, Meripa Setu, expressed her aspirations, saying, “This fellowship is dear to me, it supports and strengthens us so that we can continue to support the ministers, share their burdens, and provide assistance in spreading the Gospel.”
There are two days left for this gathering, and this evening, there will be a program of stories, singing, and evangelical dance with the theme, “We Follow a Loving God.”
It is also an opportunity for the wives of Ministers to meet together and learn as they serve in their mission.
