Almost every day of the week, there are complaints about taxi fares, as some drivers increase their prices beyond the legal threshold.
Which is the reason for reassessing policies by LTA and initiating discussions with individuals involved in public transportation on the roads.
During our discussion with Tevaga Mark Tominiko, a Policy Analyst at the Land Transport Authority (L.T.A.), he stated, “We are gathering information due to inconsistencies between public feedback from transport service users and the perspectives of transport service providers and drivers. We are just beginng discussions.”
The authority is considering and taking into account public input as a criterion for readjusting fares for buses and small passenger service vehicles.
