The preparations have been underway for months for the convening of the significant gathering of leaders from various nations, at the meeting of the government’s women’s committee, scheduled for October of this year.

Yesterday evening, the committee officially launched the Samoa CHOGM logo and website for the three-day gathering scheduled for October this year.

The event took place on yesterday at the Samoa Tourism Authority Fale Samoa in the presence of the Head of State Afioga Tuimaleali’ifano Vaaleto’a Eti Sualauvi II and Masiofo Fa’amausili Leinafo, Ministers of Cabinet and Parliament, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, and heads of Government Ministries and Public Enterprises, in high spirits.

The Honourable Prime Minister, in her official statement, said, “It is not usual for us to convene and discuss matters with the Governments of the Commonwealth, but with the coming of the CHOGM for its meeting here in Samoa, is why we should make more noise about this organisation that we are a part of and that has helped Samoa in many ways.”

It was also an opportunity for Tauila Epati Tumatavai to showcase his talent, as he was granted the contract to design the new logo for the conference.

The website, developed by Vodafone, was also acknowledged in the Prime Minister’s expression of gratitude to all who contributed to the upcoming conference in Samoa.
