The I’a Sā women’s team was the only women’s team to join the five men’s teams from the Samoa Upolu Volleyball Association that participated in the Tutuila volleyball tournament for the Tutuila & Manu’a flag celebration this month.
They had no reserve players, and despite some team members being injured, this did not dampen their spirit and determination to excel in response to the support from their families and the country.
The women fought hard and reached the Quarter Finals, providing them with the opportunity to play in the semi-finals and a chance for a team to advance to the championship.
It is always a good news for a team to make it to the final stage of a volleyball tournament.
Despite losing to the American Samoa team Measina, who won the championship, Leusoali’i and the Samoa Volleyball Association were very pleased with the effort of their women’s team, which made their country proud, especially the coach and the women’s team of I’a Sā.
I’a Sā claimed second place in this year’s Tutuila and Manu’a Flag Day volleyball tournament of the women’s division.
