Apia, Samoa – The Football Federation Samoa (FFS) has started a five-day training program for referees at the Technical Centre in Tuana’imato. The course aims to improve the skills and qualifications of local referees, enabling them to officiate matches both in Samoa and internationally.

The training is led by Alejo Perez Legvizamon, a FIFA Fitness Instructor and OFC Referee Coach, along with Kelvin Stoltenkamp, the OFC Head of Refereeing. The course covers both physical and technical aspects of refereeing.

Supporting the training are Maria Akenese Salamasina, a Fitness Instructor, and Malaetala Salanoa, a Technical Instructor with FFS.

Participants will receive certificates from the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) upon completion, qualifying them to officiate football games domestically and abroad.

More than ten referees are attending the course.

This training is part of FFS’s efforts to enhance the standard of football officiating in Samoa.
