The Falealili community is invited to attend a free Community Hearing Screening to be held at Malaemalu EFKS Hall on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, from 9:00am to 2:00pm

This initiative aims to enhance access to hearing health services by providing residents of all ages with the opportunity to have their hearing checked at no cost. The screening is open to children, youth, adults, and older persons, with support for hearing aids available for individuals identified as needing further assistance.

The hearing screening is part of an ongoing collaboration between SENESE and the ENT Department of the Ministry of Health (MoH), to identify and refer those with hearing difficulties/problems to the appropriate services. This is made possible through the support of the Tautua Program. The team consists of SENESE staff, nurses from the ENT Department (MoH) and accompanied by a volunteer Audiologist from Australia with support by Piu Scholars. Together, the team will ensure professional, respectful, and accessible services for all participants.

Collaboration for Community Wellbeing

This event showcases the strength of collaboration between Civil Society Organizations under the Tautua Human Development Program, supported by the Australian Government through DFAT alongside the Government of Samoa partners including SENESE and Piu Scholars, a Community Learning Centre serving 16 students across Years 2-10. Partners recognized that undiagnosed hearing issues can impact educational outcomes and identified the need for accessible hearing screenings for students and their wider community. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to improving health outcomes and promoting inclusive community development.
