Samoa’s fuel supply remains secure, with the Amber Level advisory continuing as a precautionary measure, according to the Government’s Disaster Advisory Committee.

The committee said the advisory is intended to encourage efficient fuel use and ensure the responsible management of national reserves while maintaining continuity of supply.

Current fuel reserves are estimated to last approximately 42 days for diesel, 48 days for petrol and 82 days for kerosene and jet fuel.

The next fuel tanker is scheduled to arrive on 4 July 2026. Further tanker arrivals are expected between 12 and 15 August and between 17 and 19 September.

The Government said global fuel markets remain sensitive to developments in the Middle East. Recent progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran was described as a positive development, although the situation and any possible implications for Samoa will continue to be monitored.

Scheduled fuel shipments are continuing as planned, and the Government will continue monitoring international developments and national fuel reserves.

The Disaster Advisory Committee may recommend returning Samoa to Green Level for Cabinet’s consideration and approval if international conditions continue to improve.

Businesses, communities and members of the public have been asked to continue using fuel responsibly.

The update was issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre on 17 June 2026.
