Samoa Golf Incorporated launches regional campaign celebrating golf, youth development and Samoa’s growing profile as a premier Pacific golfing destination.

Samoa Golf Incorporated (SGI) today launched “The Rise”, a regional promotional campaign leading into the 2026 Samoa Open Championship, Samoa’s premier golfing event and one of the Pacific’s leading golf tournaments.
Interest in this year’s championship is already exceeding expectations, with 17 Fiji PGA professionals having indicated their intention to compete following recent discussions with the Fiji PGA. Further registrations are expected from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific nations, alongside additional amateur golfers, accompanying families and business visitors during championship week.
“The Samoa Open is much more than a golf tournament,” said Leiataua Isikuki Punivalu, President of Samoa Golf Incorporated.
“It is an opportunity to showcase Samoa to the Pacific and beyond. Through ‘The Rise’, we are celebrating the growth of golf in our country, investing in our young players, strengthening our regional partnerships and building the Samoa Open into one of the premier sporting events in the Pacific.”
Building on the success of the 2025 tournament, SGI expects the 2026 Samoa Open Championship to be its largest event to date.
The championship continues to play an important role in:
• Promoting Samoa internationally as a sporting and tourism destination.
• Providing opportunities for Samoan golfers to compete alongside leading Pacific professionals.
• Expanding SGI’s junior golf development program.
• Strengthening sporting partnerships throughout the Pacific region.
The campaign also recognizes the achievements of defending champion Aaron Evalu, whose success continues to inspire the next generation of Samoan golfers while highlighting the growing depth of golfing talent emerging across the country.
“The Rise” represents more than a promotional campaign. It reflects SGI’s long-term vision to grow golf throughout Samoa, create opportunities for young people and strengthen pathways for local players.
It also supports the broader ambition of establishing the Samoa Open Championship as a tournament recognized across the Pacific for excellence both on and off the course.
