Samoa’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Seuāmuli Letu’uga Fasi Toma, will lead a government delegation to the Commonwealth Sport Ministers Meeting in Glasgow, Scotland.

Associate Minister Fiu Fa’aolatane Ponifasio Vasa and Ministry Chief Executive Officer Luātua Seumanutafa Semiperive Epati will also attend the meeting.

The Minister’s son, Mareko Fasi Toma, will accompany him during the official engagement.

The Government said ministerial delegations travelling overseas are normally accompanied by the relevant ministry’s chief executive officer or another member of its executive management.

It also said ministers are entitled to two overseas trips each year during which they may be accompanied by their spouse. Under the travel policy, the Minister’s son is eligible to accompany him on this trip.

According to government records, Samoa’s delegations to the Commonwealth Games in 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 each included at least five members.

The Government said the size and composition of the delegation travelling to Glasgow were consistent with its established policies.
