ASA Foundation leads Pacific Strategy for Manurewa

The working committee is developing the Pan Pacific Strategy for the Manurewa Local Board to document and address the needs of Pacific people in Manurewa. This strategy will guide the Manurewa Local Board and Auckland Council in planning programs and allocating funding for Pacific initiatives in the area.

Manurewa Local Board Chair Matt Winiata, Deputy Chair Glen Murphy, Auckland City Councillor Daniel Newman, and board member Heather attended the Rewa Summer Games last Saturday. The event, which featured kilikiti, volleyball, and touch rugby, was supported by the ASA Foundation.

Residents of Manurewa are invited to attend workshops, facilitated by the ASA Foundation, are being held at the ASA Foundation office at Wero Whitewater Park, 770 Great South Road, Manukau. The Manurewa Sports Development meeting is scheduled for Monday, 17 March, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, for sports teams, clubs, and athletes in Manurewa. The Manurewa Community Development meeting will take place on Monday, 24 March, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, inviting church leaders, community groups, and Pacific organisations in Manurewa. The Manurewa Youth Development meeting is set for Monday, 31 March, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, for youth leaders, representatives, and youth-focused programs. The Manurewa Economic Development meeting will be held on Monday, 7 April, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, for Pacific business owners and entrepreneurs in Manurewa.
