The government’s goal is to improve postal services to ensure they are accessible and satisfactory for all citizens.
This was the purpose of today’s ceremony – the blessing of two delivery vans under a project supported by the Universal Postal Union and the Government of Samoa, through Samoa Post, aimed at enhancing and modernising services across the country.
A key aspect of Samoa Post’s service, both at the central office in Apia and its branches in Savai’i, is to provide better support for small businesses, especially those producing handicrafts. The aim is to allow them to sell their goods from a single location in a coordinated way.

This reflects the government’s strong desire to meet the needs of both locals and visiting tourists, with these services now officially launched and available to the public.
In her keynote address, the Prime Minister of Samoa, Hon. Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, stated,
“This is also why Samoa participates in international forums through its Postal Service – to maintain and strengthen partnerships between Samoa and the Universal Postal Union.
“As Prime Minister, I now officially launch this initiative and advise Samoa Post and its management to ensure the proper use and care of these assets, in service to all of Samoa.”
