A new school building for Peace Chapel Christian School was officially opened in Vaimea on Friday, marking what the Government described as an investment in education, faith and the future of Samoa’s children.

Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo officially opened the new primary school facility during a ceremony attended by government representatives, church leaders, the school’s board, teachers, parents, students and community supporters.

In her keynote address, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Peace Chapel Christian School and acknowledged the years of commitment, sacrifice and cooperation that led to the completion of the building.

She said the opening represented more than the completion of a physical structure.

“Today is more than the opening of a building. It is the opening of new opportunities, new dreams and a brighter future for every child who will learn within these classrooms,” she said.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the Government remained committed to improving education throughout Samoa, including the quality of school facilities, student achievement and the professional development of teachers.

She said these priorities were reflected in the Pathway for the Development of Samoa 2026/27–2030/31, which places emphasis on providing suitable learning environments and preparing young people for the future.

“Schools like yours play a vital role in helping our nation achieve the aspirations set out in the Pathway for the Development of Samoa,” she said.

“By providing quality learning environments, supporting excellent teaching, and preparing young people to become responsible citizens and future leaders.”

The Deputy Prime Minister also recognised the school’s Christian foundation, referring to the biblical message from Isaiah 54:13: “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be your children’s peace.”

She encouraged the school community to allow its faith-based values to continue guiding teachers, students and families.

Addressing the students directly, she encouraged them to dream big, work hard, respect their parents and teachers, stay away from illegal drugs, believe in themselves and trust in God.

She said the new building should become a place where students gain knowledge, develop strong character, strengthen their faith and are inspired to reach their full potential.

The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the contribution of the church, school board, teachers, parents, partners, organisations and individuals who supported the project.

The ceremony concluded with the Deputy Prime Minister formally declaring the new Peace Chapel Christian School building open and offering prayers for the school, its students and future generations.
