The University of Samoa (N.U.S.) has celebrated its 40 years since its establishment with a mere $5 in 1984. Reflecting on this milestone, a total of 25,647 students have received their tertiary education from the university since its inception.

About 41% or approximately 10,537 students graduated from the Foundation Year program, 34% or around 8,789 from various certificate and diploma programs, and 25% or about 6,321 from specialised degree programs. These graduates from diverse backgrounds reflect the Samoan government’s commitment to education and its impact on a significant portion of the population. Their achievements benefit families, villages, churches, and the nation as a whole. The success of the National University of Samoa over the past 40 years underscores the positive influence of education in the country.
