The air at Sydney Central Station was recently electrified with the spirit of Elvis, as Johnny Angel, known affectionately as Pacific Elvis, and fellow Elvis Tribute Artists (ETAs) serenaded passengers embarking on the Parkes Elvis Express. This enchanting performance marked the beginning of a fantastic Elvis-themed weekend at the Parkes Elvis Festival.

Johnny Angel, whose real name is Johnny Eneliko Laulu, hails from Auckland, New Zealand, and is proud of his Samoan heritage. His passion for Elvis’s music began at a young age and led him to transition from a career in graphic design to become a full-time Elvis Tribute Artist. Since debuting at the Parkes Elvis Festival in 2016, he has quickly risen to prominence within the Elvis tribute community.

Angel’s remarkable talent was recognised in 2018 when he won the title of NZ Elvis Down Under Champion. Further solidifying his reputation, last year he triumphed at the P&O Cruise at Parkes Competition in Sydney, showcasing his exceptional talent and stage presence.

This year, he once again takes the stage at the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest, bringing his unique blend of Samoan heritage and personal flair to his performances. His journey from a young fan in Auckland to an acclaimed Elvis Tribute Artist is a story of passion, heritage, and the transformative power of music. His performances at Sydney Central Station and the Parkes Elvis Festival are testament to his unique place in the world of music and tribute artistry.
