This morning (14/05/2024), a ceremony took place at the Minister’s Office (Government Building) for the signing agreement between the Government of Samoa and the District Councils of two districts from Savai’i:
- District Council of Gagaemauga 1
- District Council of Fa’asaleleaga 3
After reviewing audit reports on the utilization of the first $1,000,000, the Steering Committee officially approved the signing of agreements for the second million and the disbursement of $160,000 (16%) for the operational activities of the District Councils’ offices during its meeting on 3 May 2024.
Representatives from both District Councils, including the Chairpersons, Vice-Chairpersons, and Secretaries, were present to conduct the signing.
Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo, representing the Government, and the Hon. Minister of Finance both expressed their gratitude for the patience and diligence of the District Councils as they carried out necessary procedures. They conveyed the Government’s encouragement and advice to all District Councils to work together and support the Chairpersons in implementing this important project.
