Representatives from each village in Samoa have been equipped with new skills to beautify gardens in their villages and homes, public places, conservation areas, and the broader surroundings/environment.
As known, two major competitions are being run by the Tourism Authority to promote the continuous beauty of the country’s green landscapes.
The first competition is for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). Fifty-six villages have been selected, each representing the 56 countries whose representatives will be visiting, reflected in their preparations and village decorations.
The winning village in this competition will receive $10,000, with additional prizes for all participating villages.
The second competition includes more than 200 villages nationwide, with the most outstandingly decorated village receiving $5,000, along with prizes for participating villages.
In an interview with Samoa Newshub, a representative from the Tourism Authority, Fanaea Natu Taulealo, stated,
“These initiatives are not only for a clean and healthy environment for Samoa but also to attract visitors from abroad and showcase Samoa’s hospitality.”
The training took place at the Authority’s Samoa House on Tuesday this week.
