Theodore MacFarland has now been appointed as the captain of the national Manu Samoa fifteen-a-side team.
The Head Coach of the team, Mase Mahonri Schwalger, stated,
“The management looked for someone deserving of the role. We sought someone full of respect, who is also respected by the players and the nation.
“Theodore is diligent in his training performance and in uniting the team, demonstrating that he is well-prepared to take on the captaincy role.”
Mase also mentioned in his meeting with the press that the role requires someone who does not play just for the money, but someone with the heart of Manu Samoa, who will proudly represent the nation’s flag in this sport.
This Friday, the first trial game for Manu Samoa 15s will be held at the Apia Park International Stadium against the Italian team, as preparation for the Pacific Cup and the quest for a spot in the World Cup.
The newly appointed captain is from the SSAB Moamoa Roosters Club.
