Apia, Samoa – August 1, 2024 – The Government of Samoa has announced a strategic partnership with the Bank South Pacific (BSP) Financial Group as the Anchor Partner for the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) 2024. The forum is set to be hosted in Apia, Samoa, from October 23-24, 2024, marking a significant advancement in trade, investment, and economic development within the Commonwealth.

As the Anchor Partner, BSP will significantly enhance the Forum’s impact through extensive branding, thought leadership, and content marketing opportunities. This partnership underscores Samoa’s dedication to fostering robust economic relationships and promoting sustainable growth across the Commonwealth nations.

The Honourable Prime Minister signed the Sponsorship Agreement with BSP’s Group Chief Executive Officer this afternoon on behalf of the Government. Expressing her enthusiasm, the Prime Minister highlighted that this partnership is a testament to Samoa’s commitment to economic development and strengthening ties within the Commonwealth at both regional and national levels. “We look forward to a successful Business Forum that will pave the way for enhanced trade and investment opportunities,” she remarked.

The Commonwealth Business Forum 2024’s co-leads include representatives from Samoa’s private sector through the Chamber of Commerce and Samoa Business Hub, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC). These organizers are planning a comprehensive two-day program featuring prominent speakers on topics such as green investment, climate finance, resilient economies, transportation, skills migration, and other commercial sectors.

The Forum will bring together business leaders, policymakers, and key stakeholders from the 56 Commonwealth nations to discuss and promote trade, investment, and sustainable development. Organizers anticipate around five hundred participants in October, including private sector representatives from the Pacific region and regional agencies.
