New Zealand has announced plans to raise fees across most visa categories, according to the country’s official immigration website. The new fees, which will take effect on 1 October 2024, are intended to cover the costs associated with processing visas, as reported by VisaGuide.World.
Under this new policy, application fees are set to increase in these categories:
- Skilled Residence visa from NZD 4,290 to NZD 6,450.
- Family Category visa fees from NZD 2,750 to NZD 5,360.
- Parent Retirement Category from NZD 5,260 to NZD 12,850.
- Temporary Student visa fees from NZD 375 to NZD 750.
- Post-study work visa fees from NZD 700 to NZD 1,670.
- Visitor visa fees from NZD 211 to NZD 341.
While most visa categories will see fee increases, the Samoan Quota Scheme fees will remain unchanged, and the Pacific Access Category will experience a smaller increase.
According to Immigration Minister Erica Stanford, these changes are part of the government’s broader effort to restore fiscal discipline and build a more sustainable immigration system.
