In an unexpected twist, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, swapped the campaign trail for the McDonald’s fry station in Pennsylvania. After getting a quick lesson on how to properly dunk fries in oil, Trump took a turn at flipping baskets and even helped fill some takeout bags. “It takes great expertise to do it right and fast,” he quipped with a grin.

The former president’s impromptu fast-food stop came as he reignited his criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris, this time focusing on her claim that she worked at McDonald’s during college. Trump, without offering evidence, claimed Harris never actually held the job. “I’ll never look at french fries the same way again,” he mused while working the fryers.

During a Q&A through the drive-thru window, reporters asked Trump if he’d respect the results of the November 5th election. Still clinging to his 2020 loss denial, Trump said he’s aiming for a landslide victory, one that’s “too big to rig.”

Trump’s visit to the McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Bucks County; a key swing area, was part of his effort to prove he’s in touch with the working class, especially given his affection for McDonald’s Big Macs and Filet-o-Fish. The restaurant’s owner, Derek Giacomantonio, welcomed the former president, highlighting that a McDonald’s job is a shared experience for many Americans. Trump himself joked, “I’ve always wanted to work here.”

While flipping fries, Trump doubled down on his claim that Harris lied about working at McDonald’s, sparking yet another baseless controversy. Harris has mentioned the job to connect with voters, showing she understands working-class struggles. When asked about Trump’s latest conspiracy theory, her campaign spokesman quipped, “Trump doesn’t get it. He was born with a silver fry basket in his hand.”

As Trump filled orders, a crowd gathered, honking horns and waving flags, eager to see the fry-master in action. Trump supporters loved it, while critics couldn’t help but see it as another fast-food-fueled distraction from more serious campaign issues.

So, did Trump really “work” at McDonald’s? Well, he certainly filled more fries than Harris ever did – according to him at least.
