The SVSG Youth group enfolded this exciting year with the spearheading of a Day-out early Christmas celebration for our young children in the Campus of Hope, unleashing them from their usual temporary residence to explore the Rainbow Park in Apia Town.
It was a thrilling event organized by the SVSG Youth Group as one of their Pre-Christmas activities for the little ones in the Campus of Hope. The children experienced an infrequent opportunity to explore this newly established marvelous indoor park, and this place is a stress-free world for every child.
SVSG responds to the fulfillment of the Convention to protect the rights of Children (CRC), where Article 31 recognizes the right of every child to rest, leisure, play, recreational activities, and free and full participation in cultural and artistic life. Therefore, the activity was well-designed to serve the children with their rights to play and enjoy their playful world as children, as well as relieving their mental health strains.
The Day-out initiative was a closed event for the Children from the Campus of Hope, and the Rainbow Park committed to restricting the public from entering the place only for this Monday.
SVSG gratefully acknowledges the dedication made by Mr. Jason Weng, the owner of Rainbow Park, and staff, for supporting this event and respecting the privacy of our children from SVSG Campus of Hope.
Rainbow Park not only offered the place for free but also presented pre-Christmas gifts of toys and goodies for each child from the Campus of Hope, showcasing the immense giving hearts of this business partner to the young victims of Samoa.
Children enjoyed their Day-out and their interlude, where they were provided with lunch and refreshments funded by our SVSG Youth Group.
The children were transported safely to the SVSG Campus with delightful hearts, thinking of the experience at Rainbow Park as one of their best days to remember. The event also marked the end of year commitments as well as the involvement of the children in the many activities, including their schoolwork.
SVSG President, Siliniu Lina Chang, appreciates the generosity of Mr. Jason Weng and his staff at Rainbow Park and personally thanked the SVSG Youth Group for their hearts to support the young victims in the Campus of Hope. The SVSG Youth is a group of young Samoan changemakers promoting the wellbeing of youths as well as ending GBV (Gender-Based Violence) in Samoa.
This initiative led by the SVSG Youth Group also signifies their enthusiasm and developed capacity as young leaders to serve and continue being ambassadors and advocates of human rights as well as victim support works.
The acknowledgement and gratitude of the SVSG President were expressed physically when she presented Rainbow Park with beautiful pots of orchid plants to beautify their premises, as a token of appreciation for their dedication to the SVSG children.
