Lakapi Samoa has announced the resignation of Mase Mahonri Schwalger as Head Coach of Manu Samoa, effective immediately. The decision was accepted by the Lakapi Samoa Board following Mase’s period of suspension due to pending criminal charges.
Under Mase’s leadership in 2024, Manu Samoa delivered notable performances, including a historic victory over Italy and a commendable showing in the Pacific Nations Cup.
Lakapi Samoa Chairman, Tuilaepa Dr. Sailele Malielegaoi, acknowledged Mase’s contributions: “Mase has given everything to our country through the Manu Samoa. His leadership and dedication to the team and our rugby community will always be valued. We wish him the best in the future.”
The search for a new head coach will commence as Lakapi Samoa remains focused on Manu Samoa’s continued growth on the international stage.
