A total of seven contestants will be competing in the 2025 Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, set to be hosted in Honiara, Solomon Islands, next month. The event is scheduled for the first week of February.

The participating countries in this year’s pageant include the host nation, Solomon Islands, represented by Miss Elsie Polosovai. Other contestants are Miss Pauliana Felise-Vitale from American Samoa, Miss Kimberly Tokanang from Kiribati, Miss May Torowi Hasola from Papua New Guinea, Miss Litara Ieremia-Allan from Samoa, Miss Racheal Gittenbeil from the Kingdom of Tonga, and Miss Charlei Andrianna Deiye from Nauru.

The reigning Miss Pacific Islands Crown-holder is Miss Moemoana Safa’atoa’a Schwenke from Samoa. Her victory has brought significant attention to Samoa and the Pacific Islands, highlighting the beauty, intelligence, and cultural richness of the region’s women. Moemoana Schwenke has become a role model for young women across the Pacific, showcasing their potential to excel on an international stage.

Solomon Islands, which has yet to claim the crown, is eagerly preparing to host the pageant for the second time. The first time Solomon Islands hosted the event was in 2013, when Miss Cook Islands, Teuira Napa, won the crown. That year, Solomon Islands’ representative, Tema Wickham, finished as the 3rd runner-up.

The Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, initially established as the Miss South Pacific Pageant in 1987 by the Government of Samoa, aims to recognize and promote the attributes, intelligence, and talents of Pacific Island women. It celebrates their contributions to regional affairs and their ability to advance in diverse fields. The inaugural pageant in 1987 saw Miss American Samoa, Juliet Spencer, crowned as the first Miss South Pacific.

The upcoming event in Honiara promises to be a grand celebration of Pacific culture and talent, with all eyes on the reigning queen, Moemoana Schwenke, as she prepares to hand over her crown to the next Miss Pacific Islands.
