Former Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Laaulialemalietoa Polataivao Fosi Schmidt, announced on Facebook Live this morning that he accepts the Prime Minister’s decision to remove him from his ministerial role.
Laauli stated that he expected this outcome and respects the decision. The removal follows multiple charges filed against him by the police, including fabricating evidence, conspiracy to commit an offense, defamation, and harassment via electronic means.
The Member of Parliament for Gagaifomauga 3 denies the allegations and stated that he has provided evidence to the police to defend himself. He described the accusations as unfounded and reiterated his innocence.
He expressed gratitude to the FAST Party for the opportunity to serve as Chairman and Minister and apologized for any shortcomings during his tenure. Laauli also thanked his supporters in Samoa and abroad and urged them to remain calm as he continues to pursue justice through the courts.
Laauli reaffirmed his commitment to clearing his name and addressing the allegations against him.
