Apia, Samoa – The Government of Samoa has activated the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) in response to severe weather conditions expected to impact the country.
In a public notice issued on 20 February 2025, the Disaster Advisory Committee confirmed that the NEOC was officially activated at 8:30 PM to coordinate emergency response efforts and provide timely information to at-risk communities.
Authorities have warned of potential flooding, landslides, and disruptions to essential services. Residents are urged to stay informed through official communication channels, including government agencies, social media updates, and the Meteorology Office.

Acting National Controller Vainalepa Toiata Apelu – Uili emphasized the importance of remaining calm and prepared as emergency teams monitor the situation.
