Samoa Shipping Services (SSS) has declared a dividend of SAT$180,825.57 to the Government of Samoa, representing 35% of its audited net profits of SAT$516,644.49 for the financial year ending June 2023.
On 28th February 2025, SSS presented the dividend cheque to the Government, with the Minister of Works, Transport, and Infrastructure, Afioga Olo Fiti Afoa Vaai, presenting the cheque on behalf of the SSS Board. The cheque was received by the Minister for Public Enterprises, Afioga Leatinu’u Wayne So’oialo, on behalf of the Government of Samoa.
The Dividend declared and approved by the SSS Board represents the 35% of the Audited Net Profits of SAT$516,644.49 for the financial year ending June 2023.
“This is the third consecutive year after COVID-19 that we have achieved a net profit allowing us to pay dividends to the Government of Samoa,” said Tafesilafa’i Leo’o Aloiali’i Ipinui Filipo, General Manager of Samoa Shipping Services.
“We are grateful for the support from the Government, stakeholders, business partners, the Board of Directors, management, and our hardworking staff who contributed to this positive result.”
The dividend payment aligns with the statutory responsibilities of Public Trading Bodies under the Public Bodies Act 2001, following the Dividend Policy established in 2018.
