The Samoa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) held its March Members Meeting on Monday, 3rd March 2025. Hosted by Digicel Samoa at the Lava Hotel, the meeting served as the formal introduction of Digicel’s new Chief Executive Officer, Karl Vizvary, and the promotion of their MyCash product and Internet and Digital solutions.

The evening began with an opening prayer from SCCI Finance Manager, Faraimo Leaia, followed by a policy presentation from the Samoa Airport Authority (SAA) on proposed fee changes. SAA Chief Executive Officer Tumanuvao Evile Falefatu and his management team attended, with Finance Manager Fiu Manutoaiga presenting proposed increases to the departure tax, aviation security charge, VIP Fale fee, and vehicle parking fees. This dialogue opportunity strengthens SCCI’s Public-Private Partnership with the Government of Samoa and ensures the private sector’s inclusion in providing feedback on relevant legislation.

A key highlight of the meeting was the introduction of the new Digicel Samoa CEO, Karl Vizvary, who expressed his excitement to continue building strong partnerships with the private sector. Mr. Vizvary reaffirmed Digicel Samoa’s commitment to providing innovative digital solutions that support businesses, communities, and individuals in Samoa. He emphasised delivering fast and reliable connectivity, expanding digital financial services, and enhancing customer experiences. He also expressed his desire to collaborate with the private sector to drive innovation, productivity, and growth.

Digicel also showcased their Maota Promotional Offer, offering an upgrade to next-level home internet speed with a $129 Maota Plan, which includes 500GB data and a free router. The team conducted a business card draw, offering Chamber members vouchers, gift bags, and a Maota Plan free router with 500GB data.

The SCCI Members Meetings provide a platform for members and the business community to receive updates on the work of the SCCI Executive Council and Secretariat. The meeting, chaired by Chamber President Fa’aso’otauloa Sam Saili, concluded with a networking session.
