Tavu’i Mike Lemisio, Chief Executive Officer of Samoa Post Ltd., took part in the Asia-Pacific Postal Leadership Forum held in Jaipur, India, from 19 to 21 March 2025.
The forum gathered Postmasters General, CEOs, and Ministers from across the Asia-Pacific region in preparation for the upcoming Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress in September 2025.
Tavu’i delivered a presentation titled “Strengthening the Postal Network – Provision of Government and Social Services through Post Offices.” The presentation outlined Samoa Post’s services and its role in supporting government operations and delivering social services, in line with the Samoan government’s commitment to accessible and affordable postal services.
He also discussed challenges facing the postal sector in Samoa and proposed strategies focused on collaboration with the government and UPU support to improve sustainability and service delivery.
Samoa was joined by Tonga and Vanuatu in presenting Pacific regional perspectives. All presenters received a plaque of appreciation from the UPU and the Indian government.
Tavu’i’s participation affirms Samoa’s continued engagement in regional and international postal sector development.
