His Excellency Mr. George Azer Saleeb Tadros presented his Letter of Credence to the Head of State, Afioga Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II, on Wednesday 2 April 2025, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Samoa.
Diplomatic relations between Samoa and Egypt were established in September 1978. During the ceremony, H.E. Tadros referred to the two countries’ cooperation on climate change, including their engagement during COP27, hosted by Egypt in 2022.
Afioga Tuimalealiifano acknowledged Egypt’s leadership on climate action and expressed confidence that the ambassador’s appointment will further strengthen bilateral ties.
Ambassador Tadros holds a Master (first part) of Cardiology and Intensive Care and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. He completed diplomatic training at the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998 and has held postings in Japan, Korea, Mozambique, Greece, Turkey, and Ethiopia. He was appointed Ambassador to New Zealand in November 2023.
He is married with one daughter.
