His Excellency Mr. Jaan Reinhold, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia, presented his Letters of Credence today to the Head of State of Samoa, Afioga Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II, at an official ceremony held at Vailele.
Ambassador Reinhold, who resides in Canberra, Australia, is now accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Samoa.
Samoa and Estonia established formal diplomatic relations on 23 January 2009 and continue to collaborate through the United Nations and other international platforms on shared priorities including peace, security, sovereignty, human rights, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Reinhold reaffirmed Estonia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and working together in multilateral forums, underscoring the importance of shared responsibility on the global stage.
The Head of State welcomed Ambassador Reinhold, noting the steady growth of the Samoa-Estonia partnership and expressing confidence that the Ambassador’s appointment will help deepen ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Reinhold holds a Master’s in History and Political Science from Tartu University, Estonia, and studied International Relations at Warsaw University, Poland. Since joining the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001, he has held multiple senior diplomatic roles, including Ambassador postings to Kazakhstan, the UAE, and currently Australia. He is married to Krista Reinhold and has two adult children.
