Retail fuel prices will fall in Samoa from 1 February 2026, after the Ministry of Finance confirmed lower maximum pump prices for petrol, diesel and kerosene for the month.
In a statement issued for Samoan media, the Minister of Finance, Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molio’o, said the new retail prices, inclusive of VAGST, will apply from 1 to 28 February 2026.
Petrol will drop by 5.7 sene per litre, moving from $2.97 to $2.91 per litre. Diesel will fall by 22.9 sene per litre, from $3.22 to $3.00 per litre. Kerosene will decrease by 18.7 sene per litre, from $2.85 to $2.66 per litre.
The Ministry said February’s retail prices are based on December cargo uplifts from Singapore, delivered into Apia in January.
The statement linked the price movement to crude oil oversupply forecasts, high inventories, and concerns about slowing economic growth during December 2025. It also referred to recent political uncertainties, and said crude and refined product markets can expect further turbulence into 2026.
A chart attached to the release shows diesel prices sitting above petrol prices across the past year, with both lines easing into February after higher levels earlier in the period.
Scale is shown in cents per litre (e.g. 300 = $3.00). Feb matches PR text (Diesel 300, Petrol 291). Other months are read from the PR chart.
