Monique Steele is a New Zealand journalist with a background in both local and international media. A graduate of Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury and Denmark’s School of Media and Journalism (Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole) in Aarhus, she has worked across radio, digital, and print platforms. Her career includes roles with Stuff | Fairfax Media’s The Press in Christchurch, the Christchurch City Council’s News and Media team, and as a freelance journalist. She also served as the Christchurch-based news reporter for MediaWorks’ Today FM, covering news and talk radio during the network’s launch. Monique now reports for Radio New Zealand’s Rural News team, covering stories from across Aotearoa’s primary industries. Known for her curiosity and passion for telling stories that matter, she continues to bring insight and authenticity to her reporting.
