For the first time, 50 heads of government departments and 10 selected from organizations and the private sector gathered for leadership training.
Through a project funded by the Australian government called ‘Tautai,’ about $120,000 Samoan tālā is allocated for this program, which is administered at the National University of Samoa.
This is an important initiative, as emphasised by the Honourable Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa in her talk.
“For those participating in this program, let’s actively engage to achieve success and benefit Samoa now and in the future.”
“The demands that come with being a leader are difficult. It is the hope of this program to enrich and improve relevant skills and wisdom, not just for yourselves in leadership today, but also for those aspiring leaders of tomorrow.”
It’s not the first time, but rather many times, that the Samoan people have received such generosity from the Government of Australia. Fiame expressed her gratitude directly to the Australian High Commissioner.
She also thanked the University for these crucial trainings.
