By Tuesday this week, 102,199 bona fide voters have registered to cast their ballot in August to elect a new government for the next five years.
But Chief Electoral Commissioner Toleafoa Tuiafelolo Alexander John Stanley is his progress reports noted that there is a number of voter registration under scrutiny which would increase the official total voters registered.
Final confirmation is anticipated in two weeks’ time after a full review of the entire electoral rolls for the 51 electoral constituencies, reiterates Toleafoa is a press statement.
In the meantime and in preparation for the General Elections, the latest Updated Progress report from OEC and Commissioner Toleafoa is published below;
EMIS Registered 102,199 refers to Registered Voters approved and already on the Electoral Roll 2025.
However, there is a number of voter registration in draft form pending approval by Assistant Commissioners that will add onto the 102,199.
OEC is currently reviewing the roll for 51 constituencies to check and verify all voter information is correct and accurate. This task will take 2 full weeks.
Once finalized, rolls will be printed and ready for release Monday 28 July 2025.
- Candidate registration for the 2025 General Elections is open from Monday 7 July to Saturday 12 July 2025 at 12 noon.
- Campaign period runs from Monday 14 July to Sunday 24 August 2025 at 12 noon.
- Pre-polling applications are open to:
- Voters aged 65 and over
- Residents in aged care
- Voters with disabilities
- Workers rostered for duty on Polling Day (Friday 29 August)
- Voters travelling overseas between Wednesday 27 July and Friday 29 July 2025
- Polling official training:
- Upolu: 21–24 July 2025
- Savai‘i: 28–30 July 2025
- Candidate scrutineer training: Date to be confirmed
