The Public Service Association (PSA) marked a major milestone on Friday with the official opening of its new office complex at Fugalei.
Prime Minister Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa delivered the keynote address at the ceremony, describing the occasion as the dawning of a new chapter for the association and for the country’s public service sector.
The newly opened premises include the PSA’s main office, a large meeting hall, and a dedicated childcare facility to support working parents, a feature the Prime Minister said would be particularly helpful for mothers balancing their responsibilities at home and work.
“This project has been built with commitment and care, and it reflects the value of the PSA and its role in national development,” said Fiamē.
“The government depends on its workforce, and their service is vital both in stable times and in moments of crisis.”
The Prime Minister acknowledged the PSA’s leadership and members for their collective efforts in realising the long-anticipated project. She also expressed confidence that the new space would strengthen the unity and mission of the association.

“With this new home, I believe the PSA will continue to grow and fulfil its role with renewed energy and clarity,” she said.
The event was attended by Cabinet ministers, members of parliament from both FAST and HRPP parties, heads of government ministries, representatives of diplomatic missions, and members of the business sector.
The Prime Minister concluded by wishing the PSA well in its work ahead, noting that while the building itself is important, the service and leadership carried out within it will ultimately define its value.
