Fuel prices in Samoa have increased again for August 2025, following two consecutive months of decline.

New retail rates released by the Ministry of Finance show:

  • Petrol: $3.02 per litre (↑ 5 sene from July)
  • Diesel: $3.11 per litre (↑ 13 sene from July)
  • Kerosene: $2.69 per litre (↑ 13.1 sene from July’s $2.56)

The Ministry linked the August rise to global market volatility, particularly the June Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) index, which reacted to geopolitical instability following the escalation of the Iran–Israel conflict and the U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities.

A regional comparison of fuel prices converted into Samoan Tala (SAT):

Fuel Type Samoa (SAT) Australia (SAT) New Zealand (SAT) Fiji (SAT)
Petrol (ULP) $3.02 $3.11 $4.27 $3.10
Diesel (ADO) $3.11 $3.27 $2.98 $2.58
