The Samoa Boxing Federation has confirmed the return of its national team from the Oceania Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships 2025 in Tahiti, French Polynesia.

Samoa’s athletes secured two silver medals and one bronze, placing the nation 8th overall among the participating federations. Competing against strong teams from French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Australia, Niue, Kiribati, and Tonga, the Samoan boxers demonstrated courage and resilience on the regional stage.

Executive Officer of the Samoa Boxing Federation, Pauli Wong Chiu Tuipoloa, expressed gratitude for the support received, noting:

“Although travel was difficult because of the high costs of airfares and accommodation, we are thankful to the Hon. Luaatua Semi Epati and the Ministry of MRS for responding to our request. Despite the funding being small and limited, it was enough to cover the team’s travel and a week of stay in Tahiti.”

The Federation also acknowledged President Asiata Tuaopepe Jerry Wallwork and SASNOC for their continued support. Looking ahead, plans are in place to develop both athletes and officials so that Samoa can continue to be represented at international competitions.
