Yesterday, the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) was deeply honoured to receive a message from Her Majesty Queen Camilla, sent from Buckingham Palace in London, notifying the organization of her gracious agreement to become a Patron of SVSG in Samoa. Following her royal visit to the SVSG Campus of Hope during CHOGM 2024, Her Majesty chose to officially announce this milestone on the occasion of His Majesty King Charles’s 77th birthday, celebrated today, 14 November.
This remarkable achievement was celebrated with humility as SVSG President Lina Chang was officially invited by the British High Commission in Apia to attend a special event at the Sheraton Hotel marking His Majesty’s 77th birthday, where the Queen’s patronage of SVSG was formally announced.

The event was attended by the Head of State of Samoa, His Highness Tuimalealiifano Sualauvi II, and his good lady, as well as government leaders, officials, and members of the diplomatic corps. The patronage is a significant royal recognition, especially considering the Royal Family supports over 3,000 organizations worldwide. SVSG is deeply grateful to be included among them.
SVSG President Lina Chang expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for this historic and unexpected blessing, which marks both a royal honour and the 20th anniversary of SVSG’s service to Samoa this year, particularly to vulnerable children, women, and persons with disabilities.

This patronage will advance new partnerships and engagement between the Royal Family and SVSG during the two-year tenure. It is a profound privilege for SVSG, as the only shelter provider for vulnerable people in the small island state of Samoa, to receive such distinguished recognition.
SVSG sends heartfelt birthday wishes to His Majesty King Charles on his 77th birthday. From the children at the Campus of Hope and the SVSG Aiga in Samoa, the message expresses gratitude for his leadership and celebrates his enduring service, wishing him joy, health, and continued blessings.
Issued by the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) on 14 November 2025.
