A message from SVSG Patron, Her Majesty Queen Camilla, “Together, we can build a world where all can live free from fear and violence,” was echoed in the media this week in support of the 16 Days of Activism, a global movement against violence.

Recently, Her Majesty the Queen announced her patronage of SVSG, reaffirming her commitment to upholding the organisation’s work providing care, residential shelter, and human rights support to victims and survivors of violence in Samoa.

In her message to SVSG, she said, “You have, I know, touched, changed, and saved lives across the island, and I am proud to stand with you as we seek to end these heinous crimes forever.”

Queen Camilla’s patronage marks a milestone for SVSG after 20 years of service fighting abuse and violence. Her support is seen as a global recognition of SVSG’s work, which originated from a vision of love and compassion. The message shared and acknowledged by Queen Camilla has truly inspired SVSG’s ongoing efforts to save lives from violence in Samoa.

SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang reiterated the organisation’s solidarity with its Patron, Her Majesty the Queen, during the 16 Days of Activism. The fight to end violence will continue, no matter the recent challenges in Samoa, as SVSG remains steadfast in supporting victims and survivors.

SVSG continues to acknowledge and appreciate the support of Her Majesty and the Royal Family through this patronage milestone, as well as the assistance from the British High Commission in Samoa.
