Today, representatives from the European Union (EU) visited SVSG for a partnership meeting to discuss the commitment to, and progress of, the SVSG Nofotane Project/NSSE (Nofotane Samoa Social Enterprise), led by SVSG in Samoa from 2024 to 2026.
The official meeting coincided with both parties’ partnership in support of the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence campaign. The Nofotane concept was originally established to address financial issues within families that contribute to gender-based violence. Today’s meeting reviewed the implementation progress of this project in Samoa and discussed the way forward for the remainder of the project term.

This project has helped develop the life skills of many local Nofotane women in communities across both Upolu and Savaii, with some of these women becoming successful entrepreneurs. The meeting concluded with a presentation of Nofotane products by some members of our local communities.
SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang acknowledged the assistance of the European Union (EU) in developing this project, which has led to significant improvements in the living conditions of many Nofotane women and their families.
Representatives from the European Union (EU) also expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting and appreciated the opportunity to witness the achievements of the Nofotane women. They further acknowledged SVSG’s continued passion for supporting Nofotane women and their cause.
As we join the 16 Days of Activism, SVSG remains committed to empowering Nofotane women in Samoa, helping them become better versions of themselves, eliminate violence, and promote peace and harmony within families.
