In a heartwarming gesture to brighten the festive season for children in need, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have generously donated a collection of clothes and sports uniforms to the Children of the Campus of Hope today.

The donation was officially presented by AFP Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) Simon Penny, Technical Advisor Grant Smith, and Secretary Peleimoana Esera. The items included recycled police uniforms that have been creatively repurposed into children’s clothing, as well as 18 soccer uniforms graciously donated by an Australian school in Canberra.

The AFP’s donation is part of an ongoing effort to support underprivileged children and provide them with the resources they need to feel included and valued, especially during the festive season. The repurposed uniforms reflect the AFP’s commitment to sustainability, showing that even everyday items can have a positive impact on the community when reimagined for a good cause.

“We are proud to support the children of the Campus of Hope with these donations,” said Simon Penny, AFP Senior Responsible Officer.

“Not only do these gifts provide warmth and joy, but they also highlight our commitment to sustainability and community involvement. It is our hope that these donations will help make the festive season a little brighter for the children and give them a sense of belonging.”

In addition to the recycled police uniforms, the 18 soccer uniforms will provide the children with an opportunity to engage in physical activity and enjoy sports, promoting health, teamwork, and confidence. The donation of the soccer uniforms was made possible through the generosity of a Canberra-based school, which shares the AFP’s commitment to supporting youth in need.
