Samoa Business Hub (SBH) today marked a significant milestone in its commitment to enterprise development and skills advancement with the graduation of 43 participants from the Level II Certificate in Small Business Operations.

The qualification is nationally accredited by the Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA) and aligned with Samoa’s National Qualifications Framework, providing graduates with a recognised pathway into further technical, vocational, and tertiary education.

Delivered over a six-month period, the programme is designed to be highly applied and workplace-focused. Participants completed competency-based assessments supported by industry practitioners, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills essential for operating and strengthening small businesses. Training areas included workplace safety and first aid, customer service excellence, alcohol and drug awareness, and essential financial management skills such as record-keeping, costing, pricing, and taxation.

The programme was developed to formally recognise existing skills while enhancing business capability, productivity, and compliance. Through this approach, Samoa Business Hub continues to support sustainable livelihoods and contribute to national economic resilience.

Samoa Business Hub acknowledged the strong collaboration that underpins the success of the programme, particularly the technical and instructional support provided by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (MCIL), the Ministry of Police, the Ministry of Customs and Revenue, and the Samoa Red Cross.

Special recognition was also extended to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UN Women, whose financial assistance through the Markets for Change Project enabled increased access to training opportunities for participants. The Samoa Qualifications Authority was acknowledged for its ongoing guidance and administration of the PSET Fund, which supported learners with disabilities and strengthened staff capacity at SBH.

Samoa Business Hub further recognised employers for their commitment to staff development and families for their encouragement and support throughout the learning journey.

Enrolment for the next intake of the Level II Certificate in Small Business Operations, scheduled to commence in January 2026, is now open. Interested individuals and organisations are encouraged to contact Samoa Business Hub directly, visit its office, or follow SBH on Facebook and online platforms for further information.

Samoa Business Hub congratulates all graduates on their achievement and looks forward to their continued contribution to business growth and community development across Samoa.
